Calgary Heritage Coffee Roasters
In our search for our coffee roasters there were various coffee dates with friends and a lot of coffee consumed to find our favorite local coffee roaster. Regular coffee dates were a lot of fun, but we needed to select a roaster for beans to brew at our shop. With a list of roasters I wanted to try, I bribed our 10-year-old daughter to come have a coffee date with her mom at Calgary Heritage Coffee Roasters. She reluctantly agreed when promised a hot chocolate. Calgary Heritage Coffee Roasters shop is located in historical Inglewood in an old brick building with amazing vibes. Their cozy shop has warm, original hardwood floors, great lighting, and an intimate atmosphere. I ordered the promised hot chocolate and a cup of black coffee. Years ago I kicked my coffee cream addiction, and found that coffee needs to be good quality to be consumed black. Calgary Heritage Coffee Roasters makes a deliciously smooth cup of coffee and I have to say the hot chocolate was also magical (but that is something we will need to learn how to perfect at Social Grounds down the road)! I had a few requirements when selecting a roaster.

Since CHCR exceeded my expectations I reached out to the owners to see if they would be willing to work with us and they agreed and have been more than helpful, offering valuable advice on what machines to use and other useful coffee tips. Calgary Heritage was founded by wildland firefighters that came up with the idea to start roasting beans over a campfire one night on a camping trip. What I like best about them is the fact that that they are willing to help small business owners such as myself and offer amazing advice. We also love that they give back whenever possible with their 1 Million Planted initiative. They donate to wildfire relief funds & plant a tree for every bag of coffee sold. To date they have planted over 101,000 trees within BC & Alberta. We feel good serving their beans at Social Grounds & hope we can make such an impact on our community and give back whenever possible just like they have done.

Pretty Sweet Bakery
We think the name says it all, Pretty Sweet Bakery provides the prettiest treats for your sweet tooth. Giving thank you gifts is one of our favorite things, which is how we stumbled across the Pretty Sweet Bakery. All of their treats are made with such care & skill, and we can feel good giving them as gifts and selling them at Social Grounds. Be sure to try the cookie sandwiches-they might be just as good as our coffee!
Glamorgan Bakery
Glamorgan Bakery Cheese Buns are famous in Calgary and we are proud offer them at Social Grounds. They are a best seller and we get them in fresh often. Other treats we have from Glamorgan include donuts, scones, tarts + savory items. We love Glamorgan as they are a family run business with tasty treats & fair prices. We are proud to offer them at Social Grounds! In our first year of business we sold over 5500 cheese buns & think we are doing our customers a service by allowing them to eat just one at a time rather than 6 on the car ride home from Glamorgan!
