Service Description

We live in a world that constantly asks us to do more, know more, accomplish more and become more. There is always another task, another notification, another problem to solve and another version of ourselves we could try to become. But what if the problem isn't that we haven't figured out how to manage life? What if the problem is that life was never meant to be completely figured out? Inspired by Oliver Burkeman’s Meditations for Mortals, this two-part, four-hour workshop offers a practical, down-to-earth exploration of meditation for real people in a real world. On the first Sunday, we’ll face some of life’s uncomfortable truths: we are imperfect, our time and attention are limited, we can’t control everything, and we can’t do everything. You’ll learn a simple meditation practice that helps you thrive in this reality rather than deny it. Between sessions, you’ll have an opportunity to test drive the philosophy and practice in your everyday adventure. Return the second Sunday for more meditation, discussion and reflection, exploring the theme of awareness to action: starting instead of avoiding, finishing instead of endlessly refining, acting now instead of always leaving things for your future selves, and becoming clearer about what really matters. No previous meditation experience is required. Come curious and leave better equipped to enjoy the life you’re living. Please bring a pen and journal. Two-Part Series Sunday, November 15 & 22 3:00 - 5:00 pm $90 / $75 early bird until October 31
