Get into the holiday spirit with a fun, relaxing, and hands-on card-making experience! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the art of lino printing and create your own small edition of three unique Christmas cards. You’ll be guided through everything you need to know—from choosing and preparing your materials to learning how to achieve a beautiful, clean print. You can either use our selection of pre-cut lino designs or, if you’re feeling creative, carve your own design from a pre-drawn template. Using non-toxic materials, you’ll discover the joy of this increasingly popular handcrafted art form while adding your own personal touch to each creation. We’ll also share plenty of creative ideas, tips, and techniques to help you customize your cards. Come slow down, get creative, and leave with three one-of-a-kind cards made by you! A little about the instructor Lenny Lane is a professional artist and designer and came to Calgary from Scotland in 2001. His art practice has specialised in lino block printing for over 36 years. Locally he was one of the participating artists (Artists Ranch Project) at the Calgary Stampede in 2017 and has been included in several local art exhibitions in and around the city. He teaches drawing whilst also practicing advanced lino printing in his home studio. Over the course of his career his work has found its way to homes and private collections in North America, Europe, Australasia and Scandinavia.
